The City of Mexico Beach, FL worked with a team of federal and state agencies to plan several stormwater management projects across the city that will improve water quality, reduce flooding, and increase resilience during future storm events. The stormwater components also integrate green space and recreational features such as greenway and blueway trails, as well as parks and community spaces to gather, play, exercise and enjoy nature. The city hopes the projects will lead to economic growth, increased tourism and improved quality of life in Mexico Beach. Draft concepts were shared at two Open House events in September and via an online survey. A final report was presented to the community in February 2020.
The final report is available for download here.
